When color met compassion on the walls of the SOS Village in Agadir, a simple idea turned into a celebration of imagination and community. Blooming Together, led by Ahmed Mouhib and the Association Assafaa pour l’Environnement et le Développement, invited thirty children to take part in four creative workshops where art became a bridge to empowerment. Guided by thirteen volunteers and supported by partners such as Fitness Park and Earth Guardians, the children transformed a blank wall into a mural that told their collective story.

“Seeing the children’s joy as their ideas took shape on the wall reminded us that creativity can be a powerful tool for healing and connection,” shared Mouhib.

The Impact of the Seed Grant

With a seed grant that provided essential materials and resources, the team could focus on what truly mattered: creating a safe, joyful space for children to express themselves. “Even a modest grant can change the scale of what’s possible,” said Mouhib.

“The Pollination Project didn’t just fund a mural, it funded joy, confidence, and collaboration.”

The grant’s flexible approach was key to overcoming challenges such as price fluctuations and budget adjustments. That trust allowed organizers to make thoughtful, community-driven decisions that amplified the project’s reach. What began as an art initiative soon sparked greater generosity. Fitness Park, one of the collaborators, donated seventy backpacks to the children, an unexpected act that reflected the project’s widening ripple of kindness. Blooming Together became a vivid example of community-led development and grassroots philanthropy, showing how small grants can create lasting social impact.

The Future

Though the mural now stands complete, its story continues to unfold. The Association Assafaa team plans to make Blooming Together an annual event, extending its reach to more children, especially girls, and incorporating themes such as environmental awareness, women’s health, and creative empowerment. “We’ve seen how a simple act of painting can bring people closer and awaken hope,” Mouhib reflected. “This is just the beginning of what our community can create together.”

As one of The Pollination Project’s many grassroots success stories, Blooming Together illustrates the profound potential of micro grants for social change. What started with paint and passion has become a living mural of hope, proving that with the right support, communities can truly bloom together.
