Mukasa Nassar, Initiative Uganda – Ugapads: Reusable Sanitary Pads Project

Date grant awarded: March 30, 2018

“Ugapads: Reusable Sanitary Pads Project” is a women led social enterprise established by Initiative Uganda to manufacture and increase access to affordable and appropriate reusable sanitary pads for girls and women. Through this project, women and girls will be able to teach and empower each other through menstruation health as well as create employment opportunities for women and youths in Iganga district.

Many girls and women in Uganda do not have access to affordable sanitary pads. Better menstrual hygiene management creates a path to better health, dignity, and business. For every purchase of a pack of sanitary pads from Initiative Uganda, you will also be helping us to donate a free reusable sanitary napkin to girls in extreme need.
