Marther Lutomia Nangalama, Strengthening the Economic Status of Women

A group of women sit in a small space while a bag is on the table, what appears to hold money for their saving and loan group.

For HIV-positive women residing in Ngong, Kenya looking for a work, they often resort to sex, knowing they have little to risk as far as their health is already compromised. Marther Lutomia Nangalama has created the Strengthening the Economic Status of Women project to help ten women in entrepreneurial training and capital for soap making and detergent packaging. The need for the project is urgent as similar programs move out of the hands of non-profits and into the hands of those highly invested in establishing sustainable and impactful economical opportunities.
