The King Cobra Conservation Project is an initiative by Murthy Kantimahanti of Eastern Ghats Wildlife Society which is aimed at mitigating threats to King Cobras (listed as “Vulnerable” by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species) that are indiscriminately killed by local people at an alarming rate due to fear and ignorance in the Eastern Ghats region of South India.
