Duncan Ahigika, Joan Atuhaire, Debora – Music for Cure

After years of watching people in the community access information in monotonous ways, Duncan Ahigika was inspired to create an alternative approach to disseminate this knowledge. This he created Music for Cure in Namaliga Village, Uganda, a community engagement project that addresses widespread needs through music, dance, and drama.

Together with his team, they carry out therapeutic music training to youth and children with in the community and schools while providing a safe space to access information on various health issues, such as HIV, malaria, and domestic violence. The creative means behind this project are believed to be a universal language, giving everyone the opportunity to understand. With the grant funds, Duncan will carry out trainings and productions in 15 of the local schools.
