Clare Maxwell, Vasti Rosado, Karla Rosado – Casa de Abue

Date grant awarded: January 19, 2019

Casa de Abue is a demonstration urban permaculture farm, as well as a venue to host volunteers, workshops, and other community building events. The house is named after Abue, Vasti and Karla Rosado’s grandmother, who raised and fed a family in the Guaynabo community for decades. Clare Maxwell, along with Vasti and Karla, are converting their grandmother’s old home into a new space for a new family to grow.

They hope that the love and care of a Grandmother will serve as their inspiration as they seek to find more sustainable and community oriented ways to feed ourselves, our neighbors, and our friends from around the world.
