Christy Evers, Everybody Eats: Community Food and Pollinator Gardens

Christy Evers is a mother, yoga teacher, artist, and passionate permaculture advocate.  She is the founder of the project Everybody Eats: Community Food and Pollinator Gardens in New Jersey.

Everybody Eats is Christy’s vision for a network of community gardens and pollinator habitats that will simultaneously increase local food security while supporting endangered pollinator species like the honeybee and the monarch butterfly. Christy will create several community gardens on municipal property and private lawns, targeting areas that are easily accessible to single mothers, WIC & SNAP recipients, victims of domestic violence, children, and the elderly.

Within the spaces she creates, Christy will also incorporate youth and family garden education programs in order to encourage participants to create their own gardens, eat healthy food, compost their organic wastes, and build sustainable communities.
