Amanda Bernal-Carlo, One Million Trees to Rescue Water of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

The Sierra is experiencing a drought that has led to the destruction of 72% of the area’s original forests, affecting hundreds of species. Amanda Bernal-Carlo created One Million Trees to Rescue Water of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta to collaborate with women of the Arhuaco tribe to engage in projects that increase environmental sustainability,  to solve community problems, to share resources and to create an Arhuaco legacy for future generations.
