Albert Kahai, Horticulture Development for Improvement of Community Livelihood and Biodiversity Conservation

Date grant awarded: March 8, 2016

The nature reserve in Maswa, Tanzania, is located in a region with high rainfall, thus a fertile and fruitful area for planting and harvesting of fruit. Albert Kahai is working towards poverty eradication in this region through his Horticulture Development for Improvement of Community Livelihood and Biodiversity Conservation project. His work aims to provide farmers with apple, avocado and peach tree seeds to establish nurseries and feed those affected by HIV/AIDS, in addition to facilitate trainings on fruit management and environment conservation.
