We are serving the poorest families in Lamu and it makes our heart swell with pride to know that we can offer their children a free education in a bright, colorful, and inspirational setting. We strive to provide quality education focusing on the arts, the environment, and teaching everyone to love and respect each other…regardless of race, color, religion, gender, etc. This new classroom has allowed us to give the students at Twashukuru the space they need to be kids -to run, to play, to learn, and more. The teachers are especially grateful to have their own space to create their lesson plans and attend to their students. We are providing a better education to the community we serve – both the students and their families – by building this additional classroom.

This grant has shown us that people around the world believe in the work we are doing. This is incredibly important to keep us motivated and excited to move forward. This grant has connected us to a community of supporters and peers – which means so much when we are often isolated in our small village and can easily lose hope. We have learned how to apply for grants, how to create proper budgets, how to negotiate for materials, and how to encourage potential donors to visit our school and learn about our mission. We thank Pollination Project for being a resource for small projects like ours and hope that we can be a part of the TPP family for many years to come.

Lakshman Molleti’s work seems simple enough at first glance: he gives away earth-friendly water bowls throughout India to ensure that the millions of stray dogs, cows, monkeys, birds, and other animals have access to clean water.

"It Began with a Water Bowl," is the movie adaptation of the book "The Journey of Bunty and Chinku,", written by Lakshman.
This story is meticulously crafted with the primary goal of inspiring, motivating, and instilling a sense of responsibility across all age groups towards community building, particularly in the often neglected realms of animal welfare and the environment.

The Pollination Project partnered with Lakshman since the very beginning of Lakshman’s project Animals Water Bowl Project Trust.

To date, Lakshman Molleti:

🐶 distributed 5500+ water bowls
🐶 organized 120 educational events
🐶 educated 35,000 people on animal welfare both in person and online
🐶 impacted 15000+ animals /day.
