When we first applied, there was zero funding whatsoever, and the nascent partnership wasn’t providing any funding, so the TPP grant was critical for some of the very first baby-steps. I really appreciate the TPP goal of providing to grassroots orgs that can’t access any other kind of funding . . . In the months following the TPP seed funding, we received a $10,000 Opportunities Grant from UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (which we were also able to use towards our preliminary testing), and we received a $25000 in grant funds from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District! This is an enormous influx of resources that will allow us to test additional sites, expand the project to include testing soil samples at 8 months post-fire, and lead community workshops to share our results . . . TPP is an incredible community resource! This seed funding can be a launching pad towards new horizons.
