Wisdom 2.0, Marianne Williamson and Community

This past weekend I attended parts of the Wisdom 2.0 Conference in San Francisco.  The Conference, in its 4th year, is focused on the intersection of technology, wisdom and interconnection. It is a gathering of 1,500 people across the technology and “mindfulness” fields who dare to ask how to marry technology and transformation in ways where we are left more connected, more effective and more engaged in changing the world.

This years’ speakers included people like Jeff Weiner, CEO of LinkedIn, Arianna Huffington, Congresspeople Tim Ryan and Tulsi Gabbard, Jack Kornfield, Evan Williams (Twitter co-founder), Roshi Joan Halifax and many more.  More exciting for me than the speakers themselves was the opportunity to drop into deep conversations with people in our larger network.

I gained new insights about what role The Pollination Project holds within the world of philanthropy and social change, and how much it is incumbent on us to bring transformational practices to the work we do here. You will soon see some of these insights take form as we start to write and share about them soon!
Suffice it to say, I left totally inspired, deeply connected and even more invigorated about The Pollination Project’s innovative model of funding a person a day, every day of the year.

For a taste of one of my favorite speakers, this 20 minute video shows Marianne Williamson at her absolute best: challenging all of us to be ever more committed, increasingly radical and urgent about the times we live in.  While she addresses the tech community directly, I recommend that you watch, listen and breathe into her fierceness. She is talking to you (and me!).

Lakshman Molleti’s work seems simple enough at first glance: he gives away earth-friendly water bowls throughout India to ensure that the millions of stray dogs, cows, monkeys, birds, and other animals have access to clean water.

"It Began with a Water Bowl," is the movie adaptation of the book "The Journey of Bunty and Chinku,", written by Lakshman.
This story is meticulously crafted with the primary goal of inspiring, motivating, and instilling a sense of responsibility across all age groups towards community building, particularly in the often neglected realms of animal welfare and the environment.

The Pollination Project partnered with Lakshman since the very beginning of Lakshman’s project Animals Water Bowl Project Trust.

To date, Lakshman Molleti:

🐶 distributed 5500+ water bowls
🐶 organized 120 educational events
🐶 educated 35,000 people on animal welfare both in person and online
🐶 impacted 15000+ animals /day.
