Being the recipient of this grant reaffirmed to me that prison education is not a lost cause. It also showed the inmates that there are people and organizations out there in the real world that support them in their struggle to have an education, and that education is far more than filling in the lines and multi-choice tests. Further, and to me the most importantly, it showed the prison administration that people outside of their organization have interest in what they are doing, and how they are using their resources, to educate.
