Shingisha Hela and Zubeda Ignasi, School Laboratory Equipment to Enhance Science Teaching

Two young boys and a girl stand holding laboratory equipment, including a solar panel.

In Shinyanga, Tanzania, poor infrastructure and teaching environments affect the performance of secondary school students pursuing a future in science. Shingisha Hela and Zubeda Ignasi want to provide students with the resources to achieve their educational dreams and thus have created the School Laboratory Equipment to Enhance Science Teaching project. Current labs are under resourced but Shingisha and Zubeda are partnering with Women and Child Care to purchase lab equipment, enabling that students receive the tools to tangibly practice their work.
