Padmanaban Gopalan, No Food Waste (2015 Impact Grant)

Padmanaban Gopalan is a young social entrepreneur who has mobilized volunteers across Combiatore, India to recover leftover food from large scale events, weddings and universities and redistribute it to hungry people living in the streets of Combiatore. His project, No Food Waste, feeds 6000 people each month in Combiatore alone, and plans to expand into 10 more neighboring cities, serving as many as 50,000 people per month through their highly successful, volunteer-run operation.
