Ndofor Nwana and Davidson Sama, Professionalizing the Domestic Sector in Cameroon

Date grant awarded: December 18, 2016

Professionalizing the Domestic Care Sector in Cameroon, addresses human right issues such as freedom and equality, discrimination, slavery, torture, social security, worker’s rights, right to education and the protection of each. This project is needed because it responds to the need of families, since majority of women have joined the labor force are in need of domestic assistance back home. Less than half of them have work contracts, most of them earn less than the minimum pay wage, and a majority go for months without pay. This is the reality of the sector  that the project seeks to professionalize.
