Kirsten and the Youth Earth Club are hosting their 3rd Annual ‘GO GREEN’ Resource & Recycling Earth Day Event on April 22nd, 2015. The purpose of the event is to encourage environmental awareness, responsibility and accountability in the community. Through games, activities, speakers, and hands-on learning, Kirsten and the Youth Earth Club will educate people on concepts like recycling, trash reduction, energy and water conservation. During the event, the community is encouraged to bring their e-waste, gentle used clothing and shoes to recycle. This annual event is also a fundraiser to help with the cost of supplies and materials for running the Youth Earth Club.
“I am inspired by others who do good in the world. I love to be a part of projects and activities that involve helping people and the community,” Kirsten said, “My project teaches others to be aware about environmental and health issues, to be responsible for their actions, to care about themselves, others, and for this beautiful planet.”
Kirsten is receiving a Youth Environmental Grant in partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. to support her project.
