Joe Onen Richard, Tree Nursery Planting and Distribution

A group of women sit on mats on the ground in front of a traditional hut.

Climate change is affecting people and places around the globe, with the land becoming more arid and parched, rainy seasons diminishing and dry spells becoming longer and longer. In Lamwo, Uganda, Joe Onen Richard and his group, Ribe Aye-Teko, have started a Tree Nursery Planting and Distribution project to compensate for the mass amount of trees being cut in the region. It is this project’s intention to educate as many individuals on how to take care of our natural world while distributing and planting as many native trees as possible.
