Date grant awarded: May 24, 2018

“From Trash to Cash” Lomanij Paper Bag Project seeks to train and empower individuals living with disability in Kumba with skills in the production of eco friendly paper bags. These individuals will learn business management and leadership for the environment to set up the LOMANIJ paper bag enterprise over a period of 6 months. This project empowers them with skills and knowledge to help them escape poverty, discrimination and marginalization. Individuals living with disabilities gain knowledge and skills to run the production of eco friendly paper bags, generate income, create jobs, and train others to be self sustaining and independent.

This project equally engages persons living with disability in environmental protection through the recycling of waste paper into paper bags, hence transforming TRASH TO CASH and lives to be social, have a sense of comfort, and feel a part of the society.
