Darel Scott – Earth in Color

Date grant awarded: October 11, 2019

Darel Scott is the founder of Earth in Color, an organization that designs nature gatherings and seasonal content that helps people rediscover their cultural connections to the natural world and sustainability. This work focuses on the histories and lived experiences of black people and other people of color. Darel believes that healing our fraught relationships with the natural world is crucial for solving the urgent social and environmental issues that we face.

This grant will allow Earth in Color to publish its first zine, a publication that will archive the earth stories of people of color, highlight important socio-environmental issues, and help people bring nature and sustainability into their everyday lives.
