Charles Omwanro, Vocational Training For Adolescent Mothers

Date grant awarded: 07/25/2017

Although gender-based violence is a menace that affects both males and females, it is a fact that woman and girls are more vulnerable at the hands of men as the perpetrators.

Young Men Champions in Ending Gender-Based Violence (YMCEG) is an initiative aimed at transforming potential SGBV/GBV perpetrators into non-violent and empowered citizens who create change for the future. YMCEG is keen on prevention and response to sexual and gender based violence. This we achieve through mentorship of boys, encouraging awareness for men and supporting women and girls who are survivors of SGBV/GBV to access justice.

The project also provides economic empowerment activities for adolescent mothers to help protect them from possible abuse.
