Aima Raza, Peace and Human Rights Education Pilot

Date grant awarded: 4/27/2017

Aima Raza is the co-founder of Peace Project Inc, and she believes that kids are never too young to learn about peace, mutual respect, and human rights.

Through in-school workshops and projects, Peace Project Inc. helps fifth grade students connect to the stories of peacemakers that may go untold in their history and social studies textbooks. As a result, students no longer see child slavery, gender discrimination, and other ills as things that happen “over there” or happened “back then,” but rather as realities that they can work against, putting them on the long-term path to becoming empathetic and compassionate global citizens.
