In the heart of this vibrant borough, a community is coming together to turn waste into wonder. The Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, with our seedgrant, is launching a food scrap drop-off program at the BxPE Farmers Market.
Why does this matter? Because in the Bronx, where challenges often overshadow opportunities, this project is planting seeds of hope. It`s not just about reducing waste – it`s about growing a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

"Project Voces del Lago Community Chorus" is an incredible initiative that brings together young indigenous people from villages around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, giving them a unique opportunity to:
✴️ Develop musical talents 🎶
✴️ Engage in enjoyable group activities 👥
✴️ Build leadership skills and responsibility 💪
✴️ Strengthen their voice in the community 🗣️
Our grant will help Voces del Lago travel beyond rural Guatemala, performing in larger cities and hosting other choruses in Panajachel. Their repertoire spreads messages of peace, diversity, and brotherhood.
By showcasing their talents, these young Mayans are challenging stereotypes and creating a more positive image of indigenous people in Guatemala.
We`re proud to support this project that uses the universal language of music to uplift and empower!
