A community that bets on people before projects
The Pollination Project is a global seed grant organization that funds visionary servant leaders at the grassroots level — the individuals working closest to the problems they’re trying to solve. We don’t fund institutions. We fund people.
These changemakers bring their hopes for a kinder, more compassionate world. In return, we offer seed funding, capacity-building support, genuine belief in their vision, and connectivity with a worldwide network of aligned leaders. It is, in many ways, a revolutionary act of trust.
Our work is bottom-up by design. We seek out diverse and marginalized leaders whose work is often overlooked by larger institutional funders — adding breadth to the solutions available and increasing local ownership of the change being made.

How we work
Seed funding, deep relationships, and systems that last
The Pollination Project offers seed grants of up to $500, in collaboration with our team of grant advisors and country coordinators — each an expert in their respective fields. Our participatory grantmaking process ensures the people closest to the work have a voice in funding decisions.
We often provide a grantee’s very first check — igniting the spark of belief that kindles years of transformative impact. Beyond financial support, we help grantees take their first steps toward fundraising, offer capacity-building workshops, mindfulness retreats to prevent burnout, and ongoing resource navigation to ensure their work achieves tangible goals.
Uplifting Volunteer Action
We connect with grassroots changemakers and offer belief and funding to allow them to make a difference on the issues closest to their hearts — on their terms.
Building Capacity & Deepening Relationships
We walk beside changemakers on their path, providing training, fostering mutual support, and building a beloved community that normalizes grassroots leadership.

Our Philosophy

Our work is grounded in Heartivism — a path to change driven by love and compassion. We support changemakers who tread the same noble path as luminaries like Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Gloria Steinem: those who place as much importance on how they conduct their work as on the work itself.
We reject the notion that the ends justify the means. True, lasting transformation comes from people who carry light within them — and we are here to fund that light.

Grassroots leaders have context, relationships, and stakes that no outside organization can replicate. Funding them directly is funding the most effective possible agent of change.

Many changemakers lack not capability, but the initial vote of confidence that allows them to act. The first grant is rarely just money — it is permission to believe in oneself.

Our ultimate goal is to amplify the light within each of us — by funding impactful leaders, nurturing strong networks, and collaboratively building systems among talented changemakers worldwide.
In doing so, we strive to foster leaderful movements: movements filled with leaders who possess the capability to drive change from the front, the middle, and the back of the pack. Movements that do not depend on a single hero, but on a thousand.
With an 11-year legacy, we have empowered over 6,000+ extraordinary humans who have left an indelible mark on local, national, and global scales. These remarkable leaders — whom we call Heartivists — have saved lives and forever changed destinies. We are just getting started.
