We have benefited in so many ways beyond the initial grant that we were not expecting. I think that for many of the men, the grant and the TV spot made them feel seen for the first time in a long time (perhaps for the first time for some). Not seen for the crimes they have committed, but seen for their work in creating a culture of peace. And that is worth so much more than the $1,000 grant we received.
