Grantee Name: Yawo Agbeko Tsevi, Ama Novinyo Nyaga
Project Name: Recycling and using urine in farming
Grant Location: Kpalimé, TOGO

Project Description: In the rural communities of Kpalimé, women are responsible for half of the food production, yet the plots they cultivate are mostly poor and infertile. They don’t have access to fertilizers. The “Recycling and using urine in farming project” work with this community to implement urine recycling and crops fertilization. This project involves collection, treatment, transportation and reuse of urine in agriculture. To date, the project has provided women with training in urine recycling and crops fertilization. Women have acquired skills in urine composting and are now producing ecological fertilizers themselves while the entire community has improved access to fertilizers and healthy vegetables.
