Wilson Wang, Inspire With Us

Wilson Wang, a recent high school graduate, was inspired to create a website for students to upload and share videos to the community based on the high rate of student suicide this year because of depression and mental health issues. Their struggles, motivated Wilson to create Inspire With Us, an information-rich website to help end the stigma surrounding mental health, as well as show people who are hurting that they are not alone.

“The school district couldn’t solve the suicide problem alone, and so I wanted to help”, states Wilson.

Inspire With Us allows teens to record videos directly onto the website and then share those videos with the rest of the community. Wilson hopes these videos can help people going through tough times to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He has been working with two other students to put the website together and they currently have about 20 videos and 200 views, and are making plans to work with a Stanford research team to document their  progress.

Wilson’s goal is to get more videos on the website and exposure throughout the county, and eventually expand to uploading videos on other issues teens are facing.
