Thomas Fahn, Inza Cisse, and Arnold Ntsama Kilama – Afro United U23 Football Club
Afro United U23 Football Club is empowering African youth in the state of Colorado to develop healthy athletic, social, and cognitive abilities through the power of soccer. Afro United U23 Football Club is made up of players between the ages of 16 and 23 who are considered “at risk” due to low income or immigrant status. Afro United has won the International Heritage Cup tournament twice: once in 2012 and again in 2017.
Arnold Ntsama Kilama, a 19-year-old refugee from Cameroon, joined the team in 2016. In Afro United he has found a community and inspiration to follow his dreams for a better future in the United States. Being part of the Afro United soccer team has helped give Arnold the confidence to coach younger refugee children during the summer. Arnold, who is the recipient of the Pollination Project seed grant, would like to support his coach’s efforts to continue making a difference in the lives of African youth through participation in Afro United soccer and mentoring program.
