Terra Sztain, Organ-on-a-chip: a more economical, ethical, and effective model system
Terra Sztain is starting a first-of-its-kind annual event at UCSD, educating researchers on the latest alternatives to animal models. This project was developed to serve the millions of animals per year in the U.S. who are exploited and killed for the purpose of biomedical research. One of the most promising new developments is Organ-on-a-Chip technology, made from voluntarily donated human cells.
These technologies are not only more ethical, but also more economical and effective. Highly respected researchers, who are leaders in this field, will come to UCSD t0 speak about how to purchase and plan future experiments using these alternatives to animal models.
