TaMara Johnson and Rashunda Rene, CUSP Cares Community Baby Shower

Date grant awarded: February 22, 2016

TaMara Johnson and Rashunda Rene have created the C.U.S.P. Cares Community Baby Shower because all babies deserve the best start possible. The goal is to help at risk mothers in Los Angeles and provide them with more than just diapers, stuffed toys, and clothing – the program will give the mothers support, and the confidence needed to be a good parent. Expectant mothers must register and attend two financial empowerment workshops, which will then be followed by the baby shower event, where TaMara and Rashunda will provide access to resources on pregnancy, fitness and nutrition for themselves and their babies, infant and toddler development and early literacy.
