Steve Barr, Cartoon Classes for Pediatric Patients (2015 Impact Grant)

Steve barr

Steve Barr is a cartoonist who wanted to uplift the spirits of sick kids by teaching them to draw cartoons and giving them art supplies while they are in the hospital. Steve’s positive attitude has been the secret to his success. He wrote, “When I first started doing this, I thought I’d make occasional visits to hospitals. But as word has spread, invitations to visit other locations have grown and grown. Other artists are asking how they can get involved.” He is now further expanding his effort by making it easier for other artists to participate and replicate the program in their areas, as well as building more infrastructure so the program can continue to grow.
