Stephanie Scott, Francisco Galárraga, Alinne DeSouza and Lucas Rodríguez – Proyecto Tsere
The Tsere Project provides Pastaza’s rural schools with gorgeously illustrated, captivating books, which reflect the physical characteristics, natural environment and cultural reality of Amazonian children in Ecuador’s Pastaza province. Through this project, local artists from Quito and local members of the Shaur indigenous nation share their life experiences and botanical expertise to create books that captivate culturally relevant and stories of Ecuador’s variety of indigenous cultures. Through this project, students in Pastaza’s rural public schools will foster a love of reading and a healthy sense of cultural identity. The project aims to provide free Amazonian books to these students.
