Sevidzem Ernestine Leikeki – Shukov Community solar system to charge telephones
Shukov Community is a community solar system project that will enable community members in the Jakiri subdivision of Cameroon to have access to energy through a solar system in order to charge their telephones. Communication is needed to tackle high poverty and unemployment in the community – in the current system, community members use the little money they made to pay for transport and high fees to charge their telephone. The system that will be supported by this project will belong to the community and will be managed by the community for the service of the community.
The founder of this project, Sevidzem Ernestine Leikeki, believes that communication is essential for poverty alleviation and job creation. Every opportunity will enable community members to meet sustainable development goals needed for investment from donors.
