Roderick Lawson, Blessed 2 Bless
With an intention to feed just one homeless person on his birthday,
Roderick Lawson quickly realized that he wanted to impact the world on a much larger scale. Based in Tampa, Florida, Roderick created Blessed 2 Bless, and seeks to strengthen his community
by providing clothing, food, health care and education to those who need it along with a team of over 30 volunteers.
Eating is an essential part of life. Before one can be motivated to change
their lives they must be fed. Each month, Roderick invites the community to come out to Blessed Bistro, where volunteers cook and serve over 200 hot meals. In addition to feeding the community, Blessed 2 Bless also promotes living a healthy lifestyle and has plans to offer free services such as Zumba classes, health education and screening, GED classes and much more.
It is the goal of Blessed 2 Bless to serve each and every person with love and respect. At least twice a month, they set tables and serve fresh, hot meals to the homeless with a mission to restore hope and empower people throughout the community, utilizing volunteers from Universities, social organizations, and churches.
“I believe that this project is needed because at it’s core, its mission is to show love and compassion and inspire others to do the same,” said Roderick.
