Pratnya Moniaga, Crystal Santoso – Students for Food Justice
The “Students for Food Justice” project aims to help 1 in 5 California State University student who are food insecure. Through this project, a American Disabilities Act (ADA)-approved garden will be built at the Anna Bing Arnold Children’s center at Cal State University Los Angeles to serve children with disabilities.
Over half of the kids enrolled at the A.B.A Children’s center are of student parents, children of color, and 65% are eligible for low-income grants. The Students for Food Justice project will build gardens as a learning environment that is easily accessible and inclusive of all bodies to explore culturally relevant produce.
