Mustard Vision for Sustainable Dev’t – Sustainable Mushroom Production

The Sustainable Mushroom Production Project provides trainings and support to the internally displaced persons of Cameroon to address the high level of food insecurity and malnutrition amongst this demographic. This is particularly true for those in the Northwest and SouthWest regions with political and social instability, exacerbated by sporadic violence, which has translated to insecurity and armed violence. Coupled with the widespread rate of injury and civilian’s loss of life, thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes. This continues to have serious consequences on the livelihood and living conditions of the affected population.

It has been estimated that more than 111,000 boys and girls under the age of 5 years and 24,000 pregnant and lactating women are at risk of deteriorating their nutritional status and increasing rates of acute malnutrition because they lack access to food of sufficient quality and quantity.
