Mashinani Talent School

Date grant awarded: August 5, 2018

In the face of limited resources and competing needs for better classrooms and school supplies, critical programs such as music and drama are often overlooked by many school heads and governing boards and labeled unnecessary despite the significant role these programs play in shaping the character and future prospects of children.

Dennis Were’s Mashinani Talents School nurtures the talents of rural children in North East Kisumu, Kenya through participation in music and drama activities. The Pollination Project grant will enable them to purchase important costumes and equipment for practice, and cover transportation costs to different events across the country.
