Mario Oropeza Rios, Recycled Bamboo Bike Workshop

Date grant awarded: June 21, 2016
Recycled Bamboo Bike Workshop is a bike collective of 25 individuals that volunteer to work in solidarity with the larger bike culture in Guadalajara. With their free community bike workshop, they seek to create a way to connect with people by helping them have working bikes, but the primary purpose in having a free workshop is to create community. Generating community through helping people with their broken bikes builds solidarity and gives them hope that this can help fix the broken chain of communications that we all experience on a global scale.
