Lucia Ng’endo – Key Women Group
The absence of a father in a family often times destabilizes the economic, social, spiritual, and psychological balance of the home. In most Kenyan families, especially in slum, the father is usually the sole bread winner. When the time comes where he passes on or he is absent, the mother is left devastated, hopeless with no hope of moving on and at times leading to depression, poverty, alcoholism, or prostitution.
Key Women Group, founded by Lucia Ng’endo, seek to restore hope to women by teaching them to be self reliant through craft trade, entrepreneurship, and networking. With support to buy raw materials for their trade and capacity building trainings, this group can sustain the project and spread the compassion to more vulnerable women in Huruma slums and beyond.
