Kiima Stephen – Calligraphic Fine Art and Branding For School Drop Outs

Date grant awarded: September 3, 2018

Kiima Stephen is the founder of the project, Calligraphic Fine Art and Branding For School Drop Outs, located in Uganda. The project centers on training school drop outs in graphics and designing, sketching, tracing, pasting, water color design, and much more. These activities will be carried out in order to help the participants raise money to continue their education, as well as compete in a world where they can contribute to the development of society through working. Kiima chose to focus on graphics and design because there are many tourist centers in the area that will offer markets for the products.

The overall goal of the project is to reduce the rate of youth engaging in immoral activities like drug abuse, prostitution, and robbery due to the lack of education. Kiima also wants to reduce the number of early pregnancies and early marriages. The Pollination Project grant will help Kiima purchase a heat press machine, drawing boards, and more materials that will help participants enhance their skills.
