Grantee Name: Kelsey Crowe Ph.D. and Tracy Mulholland
Project Name: Empathy Short Film
Grant Location: San Francisco, CA, USA

Funding Partner: Global Kindness Program

Project Description: The organization Help Each Other Out will create a short film about empathy intended for wide online distribution. Based on Dr. Crowe’s acclaimed Empathy Bootcamps and book There Is No Good Card for This, co-authored with Emily McDowell, the film will display what it really takes to offer empathy in times of suffering. Producer/actor Tracy Mulholland (Crazy, Stupid, Love., Amazon’s Gortimer Gibbon’s), who recently made the festival favorite short film Grace Note about her experience with Lyme disease, will produce with Emmy-Award winning producer/director Sarah Skibitzke (A&E’s Intervention, Relapse, film One Million Bones) and acclaimed cinematographer Bryan Donnell (CNN’s Inside Man, Netflix’s Afflicted, A&E’s Intervention).

The film is intended for anyone who has been through hardship such as loss, illness and divorce, and the community that wants to help by showing the small things that make a big difference. The film is intended to be the first part of a series.
