Keith Ogean, District 123 Butterfly Sanctuary

Date grant awarded: February 29, 2016
The District 123 Butterfly Sanctuary is an environmental awareness project that seeks to create a refuge for native pollinators by creating a self sustaining environment that provides both habitat and ample food resources for threatened and common local species. Started by Keith Ogean and Kathy Spedale and partnering with Oak Lawn School District 123 and the Oak Lawn Village Green Team, the newly created Forestry Club has already assumed responsibility for an on site tree nursery and now hopes to achieve even greater success with its Butterfly Sanctuary.
