Hudson Rush, Resurrection
Date grant awarded: February 27, 2016
Hudson Rush’s “Resurrection” is an interactive project in which participants are invited to process post-traumatic stress through art. Working with veteran organizations, domestic violence shelters, rehabilitation centers and mental health facilities throughout the Pittsburgh area, members of the Resurrection experience are guided through four exercises during day-long workshops. These workshops will produce visual, audio and written work to be shared within the groups and in publication. Goal of publication is to teach the teacher in order for teaching artists to continue this program in as many communities as possible to combat PTSD and lack of services outside of cognitive behavioral therapy.
