Hong Kong Pig Save – Dog Meat Outreach Project
Hong Kong Pig Save (HKPS) has organized a project called The Dog Meat Outreach which aims to change how people think about farmed animals. The aim is to awaken the meat-eating society to re-consider meat consumption through hosting a booth on World Day for Farmed Animals on October 2nd, 2017. The project will provoke the public to rethink their “normal” eating behaviors by serving mock meat and then revealing it is the meat of dogs. HKPS will video the outreach, showing the double standard of ethical treatment towards different animal species and then spread the piece through social media platforms to arouse a public discussion of this issue.
