Germinou Vegan Food Requeijão de Inhame – Germinou Vegan Foods

Date grant awarded: August 3, 2018

Germinou Vegan Foods is a food startup located in São Paulo, Brazil with the mission of bringing a vegan, healthy alternative to the use of cream cheese made out of animal milk. Germinou’s main raw material is yam, a tuber. The project aims at producing foods that are not only vegan, but free of preservatives and allergens. So far, Germinou Vegan Foods has only one main product, which is a vegan cream that is similar to cream cheese. The vegan cream is used in dishes as a few pizzerias, burger shops, and even a Japanese restaurant.

With Pollination Project funds, organizers aim to get a license to operate as a small factory and launch a second kind of vegan cheese.
