Date grant awarded: November 23, 2018

Climbing beans -an upward spiral project to improve income and nutrition for farmers .Climbing to the challenge – climbing beans make a lot of sense in Kenya ,while is fast running out of land ,already there is over 45 million Kenyans squeezed in a small country with depleted and tired soils .Still the number is projected to grow come 21000 century .Rarely has the need to sustainably boost food production which is so pressing to majority poor .

By virtue of growing upwards climbing beans one can produce up to three times more food on the same area of than bush beans .Beans are good source of income for farmers ,protein and support nitrogen fixing in the soil .
