Date grant awarded: 10/06/2017

The Menstrual Health Hub (MH Hub) is a global and interdisciplinary Community of Practice (CoP) for menstrual health actors and practitioners. Our mission is to improve communication, connection and collaboration within the menstrual health community through an online platform that centralizes research, education and learning, policy and innovation. Inclusive, impartial and interdisciplinary, the MH Hub seeks to close the gender gap and systematically address gender equality by working on one of the core issues that continues to hold women, girls and people back; menstrual health.

We want to catalyze action on this important topic by raising the profile of menstrual health work and ensuring that all actors and practitioners in this field have the necessary resources and opportunities to improve menstrual health. The long-term impact of the MH Hub is to create an enabling environment where women’s, girls’ and those who menstruates’ rights are respected, and they are able to exercise agency over their bodies and lives.

By strengthening and leveraging existing efforts, we hope to break the menstrual taboo and normalize periods. We believe this is the key to improving the ability of women, girls and people with periods to understand and manage their cycles at an individual level. We’ll be using the Pollination Project support to create a video that we can then use for a crowdfunding campaign and promote our organization to potential donors and supporters.
