Christine Gray and Karalie Dignan are dedicated to providing healthy, fresh, organic food for everyone in Chillicothe, Missouri through their Pass The Taters Community Gardening Project. Christine and Karalie note that organic fruits and vegetables are expensive and with 26% of the residents living in poverty, access to this was not obtainable. This project offers community member’s free, monthly educational trainings on gardening, genetically modified organisms and healthy eating alongside access to a 30,000 square foot garden that provides free food to over fifty families and kid-friendly activities.
