Charlotte Magayi – Training of young mothers on the production of cook stoves.
Charlot Magayi started her project “Training Young Mothers On the Production of Clean Cook Stoves” to enable young mothers from low-income households to keep their children safe, save on fuel consumption, and reduce household air pollution in urban slums. The project was founded to provide access to clean, affordable, and reliable cook stoves in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, one of the biggest slums in Nairobi. Young mothers are trained on cook stove production, educated on the impacts of household air pollution, and the benefits of clean energy.
The project not only equips young mothers with prerequisite skills that would enable them to earn income, but also empowers them to become agents of change and ambassadors of clean energy in their communities.
