Azelya Yazzie, Community Garden Native Youth Outreach Project

Azelya Yazzie’s outreach project focuses on helping Native American youth learn how to grow and cook their own traditional foods. This will allow her to collaborate with different Native American tribes and youth centers in the region of Southern California and give presentations on growing crops. This will teach the Native youth how important their traditional foods and medicines are. This will also promote the great health benefits we obtain from eating healthy and traditional foods. From this project Native youth will become more knowledgeable and more exposed to growing and cooking resources.
